Wales v USA.
Good day of cricket. We won by 8 wickets and are now through to tomorrow’s 5th or 6th place game against the Rest of the World over 60s XI.
USA over 60s won the coin toss and decided to bat first and then went on to post a score of 133 for 6 off 45 overs. With the help of some outstanding fielding, our bowlers restricted them to a “gettable” score.
Gareth Edwards of Bangor Cricket Club, who has been exceptional all tour so far, had 3 wickets for 16 off his 9 overs of quality bowling. Aamir Ikram of Swansea Cricket Club also excelled with 1 wicket for 14 off his 9 overs. The other wicket taker was Colin Tucker of Dyffryn Cricket Club with 1 for 24 off his 9 overs.
Well bowled.
Mike Holcombe of Ponthir Cricket Club had the other wicket with an excellent run out.
W60 Team v USA
With a target of 133 set the “run chase” was on…..but with us on 2 for 16 we were under pressure.
Then entered Paul Kenealy of Baglan Cricket Club to join the ever consistent Mike Hayden of Swansea Cricket Club. Two very experienced South Wales cricketers.
Mike finished with a very accomplished 63 not out in 111 balls and earned another Man of the Match award.
3 awards in all so far for the tournament. Which is an incredible achievement.

We won the game in the 36th over, 134 for 2. Winning by 8 wickets.
Tonight we celebrate the win and tomorrow we move on to our last game of the tournament for the 5th or 6th place versus the Rest of the World XI.
