Veterans Cricket | Inaugural Over 60s World Cup

Zimbabwe Digital Magazine

On behalf of the playing group and organising committee we would like to welcome you the Zimbabwe O60’s Cricket Veterans web page. We are looking forward to playing in this historical tournament and meeting all participating nations. Our sincere appreciation goes to the Queensland Veterans Cricket world cup committee for hosting this event as well as the monumental organisation involved.

The Zimbabwe team has been put together from scratch and represents a group of passionate cricketers. Some who gave up playing the game many years ago, only to years later keenly answer the call to represent their country. Being a small cricket fraternity in Zimbabwe, for some players it will be the first time in upwards of 40 years they reunite and play the great game of cricket.

We are a small nation with a big heart and a reputation of causing a few upsets. We will be going all out to give our best on the field while maintaining the “spirit of cricket” and making new friends through the opportunity of this World Cup.

The Zimbabwe Committee would like to wish the Queensland Organising Committee and all fellow participants a successful and enjoyable tournament. We would especially like to thank all our donors and sponsors; without whose valuable support we would not have been able to assemble our playing group.
