It is with great pride, and it is such an honour that I am able to lead the Wales team into the inaugural over 60’s World Cup tournament at the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
I’m really looking forward to returning and playing in Australia, having toured there with the UK over 60’s in 2019. The cricket was tough and uncompromising, as you’d expect, but the friends I made and everyone I met made me realise how lucky I was to be able to experience a “grey ashes” tour.
Wales will be competitive and play the game in the right spirit. On the field, you will find us tough opponents and off the field socially great company!
Many people from all over the world don’t realise that cricket is played in Wales! We though, like our rugby teams, will compete and punch above our weight competitively! We are here to win and have a fantastic time meeting opponents who will become our great friends and I for one, can’t wait for it all to start !
