CHRIS CARR – VICTORIA

CHRIS CARR VICTORIA Chris Carr, born in Warrington UK in 1956 and emigrated to Geelong, Victoria in 1964. Started cricket at 11 playing under 13s at St Joseph’s and started senior cricket at 15 playing for Highton in the afternoon whilst still playing juniors. Played for 3 senior clubs until the age of 57, the last being his beloved North Geelong where he played over 300 games for a total of over 450 senior games. Right hand bat/wicketkeeper who was Captain/Coach & President of Bannockburn Footballers before joining North Geelong Cricket Club at 28 where he was captain. A committee member for over 15 years and was made life member in early 2000. Returned to cricket after a 3-‐year break playing golf to play cricket for Geelong O60s and eventually Victoria where he was part of the victorious team in the Nationals in 2016, a highlight of his cricketing career. Also Vice Captain of the winning Vic Country team to defeat the England touring team in 2016, another career highlight. Chris was a member of the Australian 60’s Team that toured the UK in 2019 |
